Patna : England defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets in the second ODI at BayOval, Mount Mounganui, New Zealand, on February 28, 2018, nqualling the five-match series 1-1. England all rounder Ben Stokes was declared Player of the Match.

Replying to New Zealan’s 223 all out in 49.4 overs, England made 225/4 in 37.5 overs with all rounder Ben Stokes scoring an unbeaten 73 in 74 balls including 7 fours and a six and Captain Eoin Morgan scoring 62 in 63 balls hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes. England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler remained unbeaten on 36 in 20 balls including 2 fours and 3 sixes. England opener Jonny Bairstow made 37 in 39 balls hitting 5 fours and a six. Joe Root made 9 while openr Jason Roy made 8. For New Zealand, fast bowler Trent Boult took 2/46 in 8 overs while L Ferguson and Colin Munro took one wicket each.

Earlier, asked to bat first by England, who won the toss, New Zealand made 223 riding on 50 in 87 balls including 7 fours by opener Martin Guptil and an unbeaten 63 in 52 balls including 6 fours and a six by spinner Mitchell Santner.

Stand in captain Tim Southee and fast bowler was run out for 6 while all rounder Colin de Grandhomme was run out for 38 in 40 balls including 4 fours and a six.
