Patna : Ranked 102nd in the ATP rankings, Jordan Thompson, 23, Australia, won the Chennai Open ATP Challenger Men’s singles title defeating World Number 111 tennis player Yuki Bhambri, 25, India, in the final in a tough three- set encounter 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, at SDAT Stadium, Chennai, on February 17, 2018.
Bhambri fought very hard but Thompson, a resident of Sydney, finally prevailed in three-sets. Thompson had turned professional in 2013. Bhambri, who lives at Bradenton, Florida, USA, turned professional in 2008. His sisters Ankita Bhambri and Sanna Bhambri are known tennis players.
