New Delhi : Bihar CM and JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar on January 28, 2018, thanked PM Narendra Modi for appreciating, in his “Mann Ki Baat”, the human chain formed in the state on January 21, 2018, to send across a message against dowry and child marriage.

“Thanks to the Prime Minister for appreciating the people of the state who formed the wonderful human chain in support of the drive to eradicate dowry and child marriage,” Nitish said in a tweet.

PM Modi had praised the human chain formed against social evils against dowry and child marriage and said flexibility and continuous efforts for self-correction are a hallmark of society. “The entire state took the pledge to fight these social evils. Children, the elderly, enthusiastic youngsters, mothers and sisters, all joined. The human chain that began at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan extended, without a break, to the borders of the state. This campaign made people aware of social maladies such as child-marriage and the dowry system,” theĀ  PM said in his first ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme in 2018.

“I appreciate the people of Bihar, the Chief Minister, the administration, in fact every member of the human chain for this massive, special initiative towards social welfare,” the PM had said.
