Patna : India were all out for 187 in 76.4 overs in their first innings on the first day of  the third cricket test against South Africa at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesbur, South Africa, on January 24,2018, with Captain Virat Kohli scoring 54, Cheteshwar Pujara 50 and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar 30.

The remaining seven batsmen failed to reach even double digit score. In fact, opener Lokesh Rahul, all rounder Hardik Pandya and Ishant Sharma were out without scoring while opener Murli Vijay scored 8, Ajinkya Rahane 9, wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel 2, and Mohammad Shami 8. Jasprit Bumrah remained not out on zero. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was involved in a 21 run partnership with Bumrah for the last wicket. All the 21 run were scored by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.

For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada took 3/39, Morne Morkel 2/47, Vernon Philander 2/31, Andile Phehlukwayo 2/25 and Lungisani Ngidi 1/27 wicket. Three Indian wickets that of Pujara, Patel and Pandya fell at the score of 144.

South Africa were 3/1 in 3 overs in their first innings with opener Markram Aiden getting out to Bhuvaneshwar Kumar for 2. Dean Elgar was batting on 1 and Kagiso Rabada yet to score.
