Patna : Replying to South Africa’s first innings score of 335, India were 287/8 in 85 overs in their first innings at lunch on the third day of the second cricket test at SuperSport Park, Centurion, South Africa, on January 15, 2018, with Captain Virat Kohli batting on 141, his 21st ton, in 193 balls hitting 14 fours and Ishant Sharma yet to score. India now trail by 48 runs with two wickets remaining.

Resuming at their overnight score of 183/5 with Kohli on 85 and Hardika Pandya on 11, India lost the wicket of Pandya with the score reading 209. Pandya was run out for 15 in 45 balls. Ashwin, who was involved in a 71 run seventh wicket partnership with Kohli, fell when the score was 280 after scoring 38 runs in 54 balls. Ashwin hit 3 fours in Kagiso Rabada’s 15th over. Mohd Shami was out for one when the team score was 281.

For South Africa, Morne Morkel took 2/52 while Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Vernon Philander, and Lungi Ngidi have taken one wicket each. Cheteshwara Pujara and Pandya were run out.
