Ara : A named FIR was lodged with Nawada police station, Ara, against a Ranchi based spice merchant Amrendra Kumar on the statement of Caretaker of Ara Circuit House, Raju Kumar, on January 2, 2018, late evening, for booking a room at Ara Circuit House posing as an MLA from Jharkhand.

The FIR was lodged bv Caretaker allegedly to shield the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Bhojpur DM. Amrendra Kumar’s wife Shalini Singh also gave an application to SHO, Nawada police station, Subodh Kumar, in connection of disappearance  of her husband along with a young girl.

Amrendra Kumar succeeded in getting a room at Ara Circuit House on the verbal order of Sanjeev Kumar, OSD, to Bhojpur DM Sanjeev Kumar, posing as an MLA from Jharkhand. Amrendra Kumar had called Sanjeev Kumar, OSD to Bhojpur DM, for booking a room at  Ara Circuit House on December 14, 2017, and came to stay there along with a young girl on December 16, 2017.

The fraud came to light after, Shalini Singh, wife of Amrendra Kumar, came to Ara and narrated the entire story before police that created ripples in the administrative circles in Bhojpur district.

Sources said that Amrendra Kumar stayed at Ara Circuit House along with the girl for nine days but no one suspected his credentials. In the meantime, Shalini Singh appeared on the scene on January 1, 2018, evening, claiming herself to be the wife of Amrendra Kumar staying at Ara Circuit House along with a young girl. She went to Nawada Police Station and complained against Amrendra. She said the she was married to Amrendra, a spice merchant, of Dhruva near Ranchi in Jharkhand, and had a child too. Police reached Ara Circuit House the same night but by that time Amrendra had escaped with the  girl.

Shalini said that her Husband Amrendra Kumar was staying at Ara Circuit House with a young girl from Asansol in West Bengal who had been kidnapped and a named FIR was lodged with police on November 6, 2017.The family members of the girl and police were calling her repeatedly to know the whereabouts of the girl after which she contacted her husband on mobile and reached Ara but he talked to her outside the Circuit House and later escaped with the girl leaving behind his belongings behind.

Shalini alleged that earlier her husband had fled away with her daughter but returned home in two days. She said that he along with the kidnapped girl lived at a Patna hotel. She claimed that Amrendra called her along with her daughter at Ara on December 20, 2017, and when she came to Ara, he once against tried to escape with her daughter but she foiled his bid with the help of locals.

SHO, Nawada police station, Subodh Kumar said that Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar was himself investigating into the matter and had quizzed Shalini Singh. Bhojpur SP Kumar said that police were searching for the spice merchant and he was trying to find out as to on whose order he was allotted a room at Ara Circuit House.
