Nawada: Bihar CM and JD(U) National President Nitish Kumar during his visit to village Mangura in Paura panchayat under Kadirganj Police Outpost in Nawada district, 8 km away from Nawada town, on December 30, 2017, noon, reviwed the progress made under his pet “Saat Nischay” programme in three wards of the predominantly OBC and mahadalit populated village on which the district administration had spent over Rs 175 crore in the last 10 days.
Almost every house was provided with tap water, toilet, electricity and by lanes. The huge pond at village Mangura, which derives its name from “mangur”, a species of fish, was fortified with pucca embankments and stairs.
Nitish, stressing on women empowerment, said that various schemes have been launched in the state to provide a solid foundation for women’s welfare. Poytechnics in every sub-division, ITIs in every block, schools for nurses, a number of engineering as well as medical
colleges in the state, all would help women empowerment.

The CM said that from 1,70,000 school girl students till a few years back, the number has now increased to 9,73,000. The CM exhorted the large number of women in the gathering to be more vigilant to make prohibition more effective. He also said that his next thrust would be on eradication of dowry and stopping child marriage. Nitish appealed the crowd to participate in the statewide human chain from 12 noon to 12.30 pm on January 21, 2018, on the pattern of the human chain formed earlier in support of prohibition.

The CM lauded the district administration for their untiring efforts in making the “Saat Nishchay” programme a huge success. Union Minister Giriraj Singh was also present during the CM’s visit. The CM was accompanied by the Chief Secretary, DGP.  Bihar parliamentary affairs minister Sharvan Kumar, MLAs Anil Singh (Hisua), Aruna Devi (Warisaliganj), Poornima Yadav (Govindpur), former MLA Kaushal Yadav, Pradip Mahto, also registered their presence.
