Patna : India beat Sri Lanka by 93 runs in the first T20 International match at Cuttack on December 20, 2017. Sri Lanka Captain Thisara Perera won the toss but elected to bowl first. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took 4/23 and was declared Man of the Match. Hardik Pandya took 3/29, Kuldip Yadav took 2/18 and Jaidev Unadkat took 1/7.

India made 180/3 in 20 overs with opener K L Rahul batting very well to score 61 in 48 balls while Captain Roht Sharma was out for 17.  Wicketkeeper M S Dhoni remained unbeaten on 39 and Manish Pandey remained not out on 32 in 18 balls.  Sheras Iyer made 24 in 20 deliveries. Dhoni hit six on the last ball of the 20th over. Sri Lanka were out for 87 runs only in 16 over. Upul Tharanga was top scorer for SriLanka making 23 runs It was India’s biggest win in a T20 International match.
