Woman strangulated to death for dowry at Bhojpur village

Ara : Kalawati Devi, wife of Kamlesh Kumar, was strangulated to death at village Mahuli Tola under Pawana police station in Bhojpur district for dowry. Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
SHO, Pawana police station, said that Kalawati Devi was sleeping with her newborn child in her room at Mahuli Tola on December 7, 2017, night. Her in- laws, who were torturing her since her marriage for dowry, allegedly strangulated her to death and were trying to dispose off the body in the morning on December 8.

Meanwhile, a woman of the village came and called her. Hearing her voice, all the family members escaped from the house. When the woman did not get any response, she entered the house and saw the body lying on heap of husk. She raised an alarm after which the villagers rushed there and informed police.
