Havildar killed, SHO injured in encounter with criminals

Samastipur : A BMP Havildar Anil Kumar was killed and SHO, Sarairanjan police station in Samastipur district, Manoj Kumar sustained serious injuries in an encounter with criminals near village Indrawara Kewalsthan late November 27, 2018, night.

The police team had gone to Indrawara Kewalsthan to arrest a liquor smuggler where it was atacked by the criminals on November 27 night. BMP Havildar Anil Kumar died on the spot while Sarairanjan SHO Manoj Kumar was injured in the firing by the criminals, who fled the place taking advantage of the darkness leaving behind their four-wheeler, which was seized by police.

Cops led by Samastipur SP Dipak Ranjan have sealed the Sarairanjan police station area to arrest the criminals. Body of Havildar Anil Kumar was sent to Sadar Hospital, Samastipur, for post-mortem.
