Patna : Three persons died and nine others were injured after 13 bogies of the Vasco Da Gama-Patna express jumped the rails near Manikpur railway station in Uttar Padesh in North India at 4.18 am on November 24, 2017.

Railways sources said that a father-son duo from West Champaran district, Bihar, were among the three who died in the mishap. The third person died at the hospital. The Patna-bound Vasco Da Gama Express (12741) derailed soon after leaving platform number 2 of the Manikpur railway station in Chitrakoot district, 250 km from Lucknow. After the derailment, movement of trains was disrupted on Patna-Allahabad route. A medical team reached the spot soon and that an accident relief train was rushed there.
