Hajipur : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on November 15, 2017, said that all the 55 jails in the state will have video conferencing facility by 2018. The Chief Minister was addressing a function after inaugurating a Bihar Correctional Administrative Institute at Hajipur, the headquarters of Vaishali district. The CM said that installation of video conferencing system in jails was making fast progress.

Nitish said that the state government was committed to bring a positive change in the lives of the prisoners and a number of measures had already been taken in that direction. He also laid foundation of multi-purpose auditoriums in 8 central jails in the state besides inaugurating 56 telephone exchanges in 30 jails and canteens at 11 jails. Appointment letters were given to 1,970 newly appointed jail wardens including 779 women on the occasion.
