Patna : Sixteen naxalites in the 35-50 year age group surrendered before the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Bihar police in Sheohar district in North Bihar on October 31, 2017, at an event held to commemorate the National Unity Day and the 142nd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. They were accused in cases under the Arms Act, the Explosives Act and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), according to a senior SSB official. They will be rehabilitated as per the policy of Bihar government, the official said. The SSB has deployed its 27th Battalion in Sheohar district for its anti-naxal operations.
