K Srikanth reaches final of French Open Super Series Badminton 2017

Patna : World Number 4 shuttler Kidambi Srikanth marched into the final of French Open Super Series 2017 Badminton tournament defeating World Number 12 compatriot H S Pranoy in a thriller at Stade Pierre de Coubertin stadium, Paris, France, in the semi-finals on October 28, 2017. Srikanth lost the first game 14-21 but won the next two games 21-19, 21-18 to reach the final of the tournament. Srikanth had defeated Shi Y, Chinal, in three games in a tough encounter in the quarterfinals.

Srikanth will meet K Nishimoto of Japan in the final on October 29. Nishimoto defeated A Antonsen of Denmark 21-17, 21-15 in the other semi-final.

This is the fifth time Srikanth has reached the final of a Super Series Badminton tournament in 2017. He had won the Indonesia, Australian and Denmark Open Super Series in 2017 but had lost in the final of Singapore Open Super Series to World Number 15 B Sai Praneeth, India, in April 2017.
