Federer beats Nadal to win ATP Shanghai Rolex Masters 1000 title

Patna : World Number 2 tennis player Roger Federer, 36,  won the ATP Shanghai Rolex Masters 1000 titles for the second time in his career defeating World Number 1 Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-3 in 71 minutes on October 15, 2017. This was Federer’s 94th title of his career and 27th World Tour Masters 1000 title. Federer had earlier won this title in 2014.

It was Federer’s sixth title of the year. Although Nadal leads Federer 23-15 head to head, Federer has won their last five matches including four in 2017. It was Nadal’s first defeat since returning to world number 1 position in August 2017. Nadal has won 75 titles in his career and 30 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title.
