Bokaro police launches maasive drive against anti-social elements

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : In a move to  nab anti-social elements entering and going out of Bokaro steel city and its satellite town, Chas,, Bokaro police has started massive search drive at every vital points and crossings  of the two towns besides in Bermo, Chandrapura, Bokaro thermal township  and Gomia in Jharkhand checking documents of two and four- wheelers besides buses and trucks seeing large number of puja revelers reaching the district.

In a  move aimed at giving a tough message to anti social elements, who might try to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the society during the puja festival, dozens of cops along with wireless fitted ‘Rapid Interference  Vehicles’, police jeeps  and other heavy vehicles on September 25, 2017, went for  ‘riot control  drill operation’  in different parts of city.

The checking of vehicles is being done at Balidih, Naya Mor, sector IV, sector IX, Pathhar Katta chowk, Ram Mandir, sector I,  sector XII, sector V, Chas check post, Garga bridge, Solagdih lake, Bermo, Bokaro thermal township main crissiong, Chandrapura  and several others places in Bokaro district besides crossings on  National Highway 23 near Jaina Mor and at crossing of NH—32  near ITI crossing, which comes from  Purulia  and touches Chas en route Dhanbad. ” The mock drill is a  move to boost the confidence of the people and give stern warning to anti-social elements that cops were ready to tackle them,” said Bokaro SP Y.S Ramesh.

The cops besides checking the vehicle documents are also conducting raids at hotels and Loodges at Bokro, Chas and Bermo besides gathering information about the persons staying to nab criminals and stop  entrance of illegal arms into the district.

Besides checking the vehicle, newly constituted  anti-eve teasing squads monitored by officer- incharge  of Bokaro women  police station have also been patrolling the city keeping a close eyes on all puja pandals. Police have even  flashed  women police station’s phone number (06542—220016) on which complaints will be lodged for quick response. Police dog squads have been kept ready and will be pressed into service from September 27 to detect explosives and arms. Bokaro SP Y S Ramesh stated that all precautions are being  taken to prevent any untoward incident.
