Naxalites blow up Solar Power Plant in Gaya

Gaya : Naxalites blew up a Solar Power Plant near village Mahapur underAmas police station in Gaya district around midnight on September 18, 2017, damaging its Control Room and an accomodation for wokers.

The naxalites detonated an Improvised Explosive Device on the campus of Solar Power Plant owned by Tata Power after their failed in their attempt to collect levy from the firm, said a police officer. The Control Room was gutted in the blast, said police. The Tata Power generates 30 MW solar energy from this plant. Raids are on to arrest the naxalites involved in blowing up the plant located 3 km away from Amas police station and SSB camp on Gaya – Aurangabad border.
