Gaya /Patna : Three teerorists including a key accused in 2008 Ahmedabad blast case Taushik Ahmad and his associate Saanah Khan were arrested in Gaya on September 13, 2017, night.Taushik and Saanah Khan were arrested from a cyber cafe located in Rajendra Ashram locality in Gaya town while sending objectionable posts on social media. Gaya is around 100 km away from state capital Patna.
On the basis of information gathered from the two, another person Shahbir Khan was arrested from village Shahdeo Khap in Gaya district for allegedly giving shelter to Taushik Ahmad. Saanah Khan also belongs to the same village. IG, Patna Zone, N H Khan, said that NIA, RAW, ATS, IG and Bihar police sleuths were interrogating the three arrested persons. Gaya DSP Alok Kumar Singh said that Taushik is a BTech in Computer and Electronics from Maharashtra.
ADG, Police Headquarters, Patna, S K Singhal, said that Taushik Ahmad was a contact person of ISIS and was operating as a sleeper cell of the organisation. ADG Singhal said that Taushik was staying in Gaya after the 2008 Ahmedabad blast. Singhal said that Taushik had sent emails to some parliamentarians too. Police have seized Taushik’s pendrive, he said adding that the Ahmedabad police had been informed about his arrest. Ahmedabad police may take him on transit remand, ADG Singhal said.
