Bagaha : About 15 villagers including three women most of them grass cutters returning from Gandak diara ( riverine belt) carry grass bundles had a lucky escape after a countryboat carrying of them suddenly capsized in the midstream of swollen Gandak near Narainapurghat under Bagaha-2 block in West Champaran, on August 4, 2017, afternoon. All of them swam to safety.
BDO, Bagaha-2 Block, Ashok Kumar, reached the spot to take stock of the situation. Kumar, on his return from the spot, said that although no casualty had been reported yet it is a matter of concern that despite ban on playing of small countryboat in the river many of them plying in the river.
