Bihar police fail to locate Chairman, Church of India, Aligarh

Ara : A police team headed by B K Prasad, Inharge, Economic Office Unit (EOU), Ara, which was sent to Hathras in UP on the direction of the Bhojpur SP to arrest the Chairman, Church of India, Aligarh, Rev Johnsar T John, for allegedly giving power of attorney to two women to sell and purchase about two acre of government land (Kaisar-e-Hind) adjacent to the Methodist Church under Nawada police station, Ara, retunrded on July 31, 2017, after it failed to locate him there.

Prasad said that the Chairman John lived in a rented house at Hathras,UP, and had a conflict with his brother too over the church property. He had been chargesheeted in some cases in Agra, New Delhi and Kanpur earlier, Prasad said.

A named FIR was lodged with Nawada Police Station on July 16, 2017, on statement of the SHO, Nawada Police Station, Neyaz Ahmad, against 22 land mafias in connection with sell and purchase of a government land adjoining the Methodist Church, Ara, by preparing fake documents.

The action was taken after thorough investigation on the direction of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar during his ‘Saath Nischay Yaatra’ to Ara on January 30, 2017. Ara MLA Anwar Alam and others had raised the issue before the CM. About 170 decimal of land was sold out at Rs. 14 crore. Zonal IG, Patna, Nayyar Hasnain Khan, had ordered filing of FIR against the land mafias after thorough investigation.

The FIR was lodged against the Chairman, Church Of India, Aligarh, UP, Rev Johnsar T John, Namrata Singh, wife of the then Registrar, Ara, Amarnath Singh, of Babu Bazaar, Manju Singh, wife of Laloo Singh of Haradiya village under Jagdishpur block, Anku Singh and Anshu Kumar, sons of Amarnath Singh, Laloo Singh of Haradiya, Adarsh Kumar and Birendra Prasad Singh, sons of Laoo Singh, Janardan Singh, owner of a hotel at Hari Ji Ka Hata, and his wife Meeana Singh, Ajay Kumar Singh of Maruti Nagar, Amarnath Singh, son of Awadhesh Singh of Karisath, Bhujendra Kumar Singh, a contractor, of Maruti Nagar, his wife  Bhawana Singh, Ashok Kumar Singh of Rampur, Barhara, and his wife Poonam Devi, Raj Kumar Singh, son of Jai Narayan Singh of Sakaddi, and Manish Kumar Singh.

Chairman, Church of India, Aligarh, UP Rev Johnsar T. John had no right to give power of attorney to anyone but he allegedly gave power of Attorney to Namrata Singh, wife of Amarnath Singh, the then Registrar and resident of Babu Bazzar under Town Police Station, and Manju Singh, wife of Laloo Singh of Haradiya village, who sold 170 decimal of land to 15 persons mostly their family members and relatives by preparing 16 fake deeds.

SDPO, Ara, Sanjay Kumar said that on the direction of Police Headquarters, he sent a 210 page documents and investigation report to SHO, Nawada police station, Neyaz Ahamad. He said that the Inspector, Chandrashekhar Gupta of Koelwar Circle, has been made the investigating Officer of the case. The SDPO said that all the named accused would be arrested soon.
