Muzaffarpur : Unidentified bike borne criminals shot at fish trader Ram Shringar Sahni and a dealer Mahendra Paswan near Mamarkha Chowk on NH 57 under Bochahan police station in Muzaffarpur district at 7 pm on July 24, 2017, when they were returning home after purchasing vegetables. They were rushed to a hospital in very critical condition but died there late in the night.

SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar, while confirming the death of two persons in firing, said that a special team headed by DSP, East, Muzaffarpur, had been constituted to probe the incident and arrest the assailants. Ram Shringar Sahni was brother Ram Shrestha Sahni, a BJP leader and representative of BJP MLA from Bochaha Baby Kumari. BJP MLA Baby Kumari while strongly condemning the killing of two persons said that Muzaffarpur had become a den of criminals. She said that the SSP, Muzaffarpur, had failed to check crime in the district.
