Patna : Bihar CM and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar’s talk with AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi on July 22, 2017, on turmoil in Grand Alliance in the state over continuance of Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav in the state cabinet in the wake of CBI making him an accused in the land for hotel scam on July 5 notwithstanding, the JD(U) and RJD leaders here continue to fight.

Two senior RJD leaders: Araria MP Mohammad Taslimuddin and former Union Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, on July 24, 2017, targeted CM Nitish Kumar charging him with hobnobing with the BJP. Nitish is with the BJP in the night and with RJD during day, the Araria MP said while defending Tejaswi. RJD vice-president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, a known Nitish baiter, said corruption is rampant at ground level across the state. Singh said that it was the responsibility of Nitish to keep the Grand Alliance intact in Bihar.

Nitish is maintaining silence over the issue. He left for Delhi on July 24 evening to attend the swearing in of Ram Nath Kovind as the 14th President of India on July 25. But, the JD(U) leaders maintain that Tejaswi has to come clean on the allegations levelled against him by the CBI and IT.

Meanwhile, the BJP on July 24 declared that it would not allow the two Houses of Bihar legislature to function during its short Monsoon session beginning on July 28 if Tejaswi does not resign from his post by then. BJP legislature party leader Sushil Kumar Modi said that if the Grand Alliance government compromises on corruption it will meet the same fate as the UPA II. Modi also demanded sacking of Minister Chandrashekhar Prasad Singh, an RJD leader,  for branding the CBI a `dog’.
