Saharsa : Police on June 20, 2017, seized 30 cartons of foreign liquor, 10 cartons of countrymade liquor and two SUVs during a raid conducted at village Pipra under Patarghat police outpost in Saharsa district. Police also took into custody four persons including a woman in this connection.

SDPO, Saharsa, Subodh Biswas, said that the SHO of Patarghat police outpost Kamlesh Kumar had received information that a big consignment of liquor had reached Pipra Bustee. SHO Kamlesh Kumar accompanied by SI Kanti Prasad Yadav, ASI Harishankar Chaudhary and BMP Havildar Shyamji Ravidas with force conducted raid at the house of Shashinath Yadav at village Pipra Bustee and seized huge quantity of foreign and countrymade liquor.

The Patarghat police outpost team informed the senior police officials about the development, said the SDPO. Later on, the SHOs of Saur Bazaar police station Manish Rajak, SHO of Sonbersa Raj police station Mohd Ijhar Alam, and SI, Baijnathpour police outpost, Sanjay Kumar also reached the village, SDPO Biswas added. A liquor smuggler tried to escape on a vehicle but was chased and caught and on his revelation police seized 30 cartons of IMFL from a Bhusa Ghar ( Straw house) while 10 cartons of countrymade liquor were seized from an SUV. After this, SDPO Biswas also reached there.
