Koderma ( Jharkhand) : Five persons including two cops were injured on May 31, 2017, afternoon  in a stone pelting incident followed by mild lathicharge by police to control an unruly mob. The unruly mob was protesting  against Damodar Vallley Corporation  (DVC) management demanding shifting of  DVC ash pond from Koderma thermal power station.
Later, police took into custody two  persons including the leader of the protestors Phuleshwar Yadav. The incident took place  near village Kariyawan under Jainagar police station in Koderma district.

Koderma SP S K Jha informed that around 1.15 pm when the DVC officials were urging the protestors to withdraw their protest, few of them started pelting them with stones from behind shouting that DVC will have to shift the ash pond at any cost after which cops resorted to lathicharge.
