Ara : Miscreants took Bhojpur district administration by surprise on May 29, 2017, by writing some objectionable words on the walls of the Jagdishpur Fort related to the freedom fighter Veer Kuer Singh of the first war of independence.
The Jagdishpur Fort is a mute witness of First War of Independence in 1857 and its owner Babu Veer Kuer Singh. At present the Fort is under the supervision of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and a police chowki has been established there. Yet some objectionable words such as ‘ Ganja ki Bikri,’ ‘Heroin ki Bikri’ and ‘Sharab ki Bikri’ were found written on the walls of the fort in beautiful handwriting with paint that might have taken at least two hours.
ASP Daya Shankar Singh and the SDO, Jagdishpur, Bal Mukund, took the matter seriously and said that it was handiwork of some mentally challenged person and the words were being erased. They said they would ensure such incident were not repeated in future. But the question is why these words were written and that too by a mentally challenged person and what police were doing at that time.
