Ara : A seminar on ‘Present and Future of Bhojpuri language’ was organized by the Post Graduate department of Bhojpuri, Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), on March 8, 2017. Dean, Faculty of Humanity, Yogendra Pathak, presided over the seminar. Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Singh, Head of the Department, Bhojpuri, said Bhojpuri is a rich language and over 22 crore people worldwide speak Bhojpuri but proper recognition is not being given to this and demanded inclusion of Bhojpuri language in the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution. Jitendra Kumar, a scholar, said that Bhojpuri is the mother tongue of this belt hence should not be neglected.
