A magistrate, two cops injured in brickbatting on a procession in W Champaran

Bettiah : Five persons including a magistrate Sunil Kumar of Bettiah and two cops were injured in bricksbatting by  miscreants on a procession for immersion of idol of Goddess Sarswati on February 3 afternoon.

A procession of was taken out from  Karanamaya village under mufassil police station, Bettiah, in West Champaran district on February 3 afternoon but on way near Lalagarh Chowk some anti-  social elements started bricksbatting on the procession in which a magistrate Sunil Kumar, two villagers: Anand Tiwari and Bhusan Prasad, besides two cops sustained minor injuries. Angry over it, villagers blocked Bettiah-Sarisawa road near Lalagarh Chowk for a few hours. ASP (operations), Bettiah,  Rajesh Kumar,  SDM, Bettiah, Sunil Kumar, SDPO, Bettiah, Sanjay Kumar Jha along with a big contingent of police force reached there and brought the situation under control.
