Patna : Bihar recorded 9th death due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) as a 75 year old woman from Jandaha in Vaishali district in North Bihar died due to it at Nalanda Medical College & Hospital (NMCH), Patna, at 12.50 pm on May 18, 2020.
The patient was referred to NMCH by Sadar Hospital, Vaishali. She had tested COVID-19 positive on May 14, 2020. She had no travel and contact history and was a patient of Advance Bronchogenic Carcinoma (Lung Cancer). She died due to Cardiopulmonary attack. The woman was admitted to NMCH on May 16, 2020.
Meanwhile, the number of Coronavirus confirmed cases jumped to 1,423 in Bihar on May 18, 200, afternoon, with 31 persons from Gopalganj, 14 persons from Begusarai, 6 persons from Supaul, five from Muzaffarpur, four from Madhubani, four from Bhagalpur, three from Saran, two each from Arwal and Bhojpur, three from Katihar, and one each from Patna, Nalanda, and Kaimur districts.
In Gopalganj, 21 confirmed cases were reported from Gopalganj Sadar and 10 from Manjha. In Bhagalpur, three cases were reported from Naugachhia and one from Nathnagar. In Arwal, two cases were reported from Mathiya.
In Supaul, two confirmed cases were reported from Pratapganj, and one each from Jamua, Bauraha, Maradna, and Bhaptiyahi. In Muzaffarpur, two confirmed cases were reported from Bandra, and one each from Bochaha, Mushari, and Minapur. In Saran District in North Bihar, two conformed cases were reported from Sonepur and one from Ishuapur. One case each was also reported from Sheohar and Sitamarhi.
In Vaishali, two cases were reported from Raghopur and one each from Mahnar and Goraul. In Katihar, one case each was reported from Musapur and Kursela. In Madhubani district, two cases were reported from Benipatti and one each from Ghoghardiha and Madhubani Sadar. In Bhojpur District, two cases were reported from Policeline while one case was reported from Bhabhua in Kaimur District.
In Begusarai District in North Bihar, six conformed cases were reported from Gadhpura, four from Teghra, two from Bhagwanpur, and one each from Khudawandpur and Begusarai Town. In Nalanda District, four cases were reported from Bind and one from Sosandi. Munger District reported six cases including two from Jamalpur.
