New Delhi : India continues to post very high number of daily recoveries with a record 95,880 COVID-19 patients being declared cured/discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 42,08,431 in the country on September 19, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases ( 10,13,964) by a huge margin of 31,94,467.
The country reported 93,337 new COVID-19 cases on September 19, 2020, taking the tally to 53,08,014. It is for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic that the number of COVID-19 patients being declared cured has exceeded the number of new cases reported on a day. The number of active cases is 19.10 % of the COVID -19 cases reported so far in the country. India has tested 6,24,54,254 COVID samples till date including 8,81,911 on September 18, 2020.
The COVID-19, on the other hand, jumped to 85,619 in the country on September 19, 2020, with 1,247 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country including 440 from Maharashtra, 179 from Karnataka, 67 from Tamilnadu, 98 from UP, 59 from West Bengal, 67 from Andhra Pradesh, 62 from Punjab, 30 from Delhi, 16 from Gujarat, 24 from MP, and 15 from Rajasthan. The Case Fatality Rate had dropped to 1.61% in the country on September 19, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure. Of the 53,08,014 COVID cases reported so far, a total of 42,08,431 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 79.28%.
The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on September 19, 2020, is : Maharashtra (31,791), Tamilnadu (8,685), Karnataka (7,808), Delhi (4,907), Andhra Pradesh (5,244), Uttar Pradesh (4,869), West Bengal (4,242), Gujarat (3,286), Madhya Pradesh (1,901), Rajasthan (1,308), Punjab (2,708), Telengana (1,025), J&K (966), Haryana (1,092), Bihar (859), Odisha (682), Jharkhand (602), Assam (540), Uttarakhand (464), Kerala (501), Chhattisgarh (645), Puducherry (462), Goa (335), Tripura (235), Chandigarh (113), Andaman & Nicobar (52), Himachal Pradesh (111), Ladakh (48), Manipur (52), Nagaland (15), Meghalaya (32), Arunachal Pradesh (13), Sikkim (24), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
