New Delhi : The huge increase in the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured/discharged continues in India with 93,420 being declared cured during last 24 hours taking the tally to 48,49,584 in the country at 8 am on September 26, 2020. The country also reported 85,362 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 59,03,932 cases till date.

Of the 59,03,932 COVID cases reported so far in the country, altogether 48,49,584 patients have been declared cured till date with the recovery rate being 82.14%. The number of active cases (9,60,969) is 16.28% of the total cases ( 59,03,932). India has tested 7,02,69,975 samples so far including 13,41,535 samples on September 25, 2020.

The COVID-19 death toll  jumped to 93,379 in the country on September 26, 2020, with 1,089 new deaths being reported from different places across the country during last 24 hours including 416 from Maharashtra, 72 from Tamilnadu, 36 from Karnataka, 24 from Delhi, 84 from UP, 59 from West Bengal, 68 from Punjab, 30 from MP, 48 from Andhra Pradesh, 25 from Chhattisgarh, and 12 from Gujarat. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.58% in the country on September 26, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on September 26, 2020,  is : Maharashtra (34,761), Tamilnadu (9,148), Karnataka (8,417), Delhi (5,147), Andhra Pradesh (5,606), Uttar Pradesh (5,450), West Bengal (4,665), Gujarat (3,393), Madhya Pradesh (2,152), Rajasthan (1,412),  Punjab (3,134), Telengana (1,091), J&K (1,105), Haryana (1,273), Bihar (878), Odisha (767), Jharkhand (661), Assam (625), Uttarakhand (555), Kerala (635),  Chhattisgarh (777), Puducherry (494), Goa (386), Tripura (268), Chandigarh (145),  Andaman & Nicobar (52), Himachal Pradesh (157), Ladakh (56), Manipur (63), Nagaland (16), Meghalaya (43), Arunachal Pradesh (14), Sikkim (31), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
