Ara : The 8th foundation day and annual function of the National Scientific Research and Social Analysis Trust (NSRSAT) was organised on January 24, 2019, on the campus of Badi Mathia in Karman Tola locality. Radha Charana Sah alias Seth Ji, MLC, inaugurate the function. At least 100 works of applique, embroidery, paintings and handcrafts of highly acclaimed artists Sushila Devi, Nitu Sharma, Bibhuti Kumari, Muskan Kumari were exhibited on the occasion.  

Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Ara, Sunita Singh, Head of Department, Hindi and Bhojpuri, Veer Kuer Singh University, Ara, Prof Neeraj Singh, Director, National Scientific Research and Social Analysis Trust, Shyam Kumar, were also present on the occasion. Pragya Singh, Palak Singh, Meenakshi Pandey, Sunaina Kumari, Shalini Sinha and Nikki Kumari sang the welcome song and also enthralled the audience with Bhojpuri patriotic songs.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Neeraj Singh applauded the efforts of the NSRSAT for empowering women by organising art exhibition. Sunita Singh lauded the NSRSAT for patronising the arts and crafts in Bhojpuri speaking belt and said that the effort manifested in the exhibition.

Rajiv Nayan Agrawal, Journalist, said that the NSRSAT was established in 2012 and was making tireless effort for promoting arts and crafts with a view to empowering women. He said the trust is imparting training to women without any government aid. Rakesh Kumar, Journalist, said that the lack of market for Bhojpuri arts and crafts disheartenes the artists.

Director, NSRSAT, Shyam Kumar said that the trust has imparted training in embroidery, painting, crafts, applique, and knitting etc. to at least 9,000 women and girls so far. Later, the trust honoured 19 persons for their distinguished work in different fields.
