New Delhi : The upward swing in the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured continues in India with 86,428 patients being declared cured/discharged in the country during last 24 hours taking the tally to 51,87,825 at 8 am on September 30, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (9,40,441) by a huge margin of 42,47,384.
The country, on the other hand, also reported 80,472 new cases during the same period taking the tally to 62,25,763 till date. The number of active cases is 15.11% of the total cases reported so far in the country. Of the 62,25,763 COVID cases reported till date in India, altogether 51,87,825 patients have been declared cured/discharged with the recovery rate being 83.33%. The country has tested 7,41,96,729 samples so far including 10,86,688 samples on September 29, 2020.
The COVID-19 death toll, on the other hand, jumped to 97,497 in India on September 30 with 1,179 new deaths being reported from different places across the country including 430 from Maharashtra, 136 from Karnataka, 70 from Tamilnadu, 48 from Delhi, 63 from UP, 62 from West Bengal, 39 from Chhattisgarh, 75 from Punjab, 22 from Kerala, 39 from Madhya Pradeh, 35 from Andhra Pradesh, 18 from J &K, 15 from Rajasthan, and 11 from Gujarat. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.57 % in the country on September 30, 2020.
The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on September 30, 2020, is : Maharashtra (36,181), Tamilnadu (9,453), Karnataka (8,777), Delhi (5,320), Andhra Pradesh (5,780), Uttar Pradesh (5,715), West Bengal (4,837), Gujarat (3,439), Madhya Pradesh (2,281), Rajasthan (1,471), Punjab (3,359), Telengana (1,127), J&K (1,164), Haryana (1,356), Bihar (894), Odisha (828), Jharkhand (700), Assam (680), Uttarakhand (591), Kerala (719), Chhattisgarh (916), Puducherry (517), Goa (419), Tripura (277), Chandigarh (158), Andaman & Nicobar (53), Himachal Pradesh (183), Ladakh (58), Manipur (65), Nagaland (17), Meghalaya (47), Arunachal Pradesh (16), Sikkim (35), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
