New Delhi : Altogether 85,376 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours in India taking the tally to 52,73,201 on October 1, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (9,40,705) by a huge margin of 43,32,496. On the other hand, a total of 86,821 new patients were reported in the country during the same period taking the tally to 63,12,584.

The number of active cases was 14.90% of the total cases (63,12,584) reported so far in the country. Of the 63,12,584 COVI-19 cases reported so far, a total of 52,73,201 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 83.53% on October 1, 2020.

The COVID-19 death toll, however, climbed to 98,678 in the country on October 1, 2020, with 1,181 new deaths being reported from different places including 481 from Maharashtra, 121 from West Bengal, 67 from Tamilnadu, 87 from Karnataka, 41 from Delhi, 47 from Punjab, 41 from Chhattisgarh, 48 from Andhra Pradesh, 35 from MP, 23 from Kerala, 17 from Assam, 17 from J&K, 11 from Gujarat, and 69 from UP.  The Case Fatality Rate was 1.56% in the country on October 1, 2020.
