836 bottles of IMFL, 4,000 pouches of countrymade liquor seized from van

Ara : Bhojpur police seized 836 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IM FL) and 4,000 pouches of countrymade liquor from a Pick-Up van near Sri Tola locality under Nawada police station, Ara, on March 28, 2017, evening though the liquor smugglers to escape.

SHO, Nawada police station, Neyaz Ahamad said that he got information that some smugglers had brought a big consignment of liquor from Jharkhand. He immediately swung into action and started checking vehicles on Ara-Patna main road near Sri Tola. Seeing police, the liquor smuggler dumped the Pick-Up van in a garden at Sri Tola and escaped. Later, police searched the Pick-up van and found huge quantity of liquor hidden under ucumber.

The SHO said that the liquor smugglers were trying to take the consignment to their secret place via Sri Tola but the vehicle stuck in a ditch there after which the liquor smugglers unloaded the some of the liquor from the Pick-up van and loaded them in a three wheeler and sent it to their hideout. In the mean time police reached there. The SHO said that liquor was being smuggled from Jharkhand, Bengal, Haryana, Utter Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh and Goa regularly as liquor is available there at cheap rate.

In another incident, Bhojpur police seized 65 bottles of IMFL near village Barisawan village under Shahpur police station on March 28 and also arrested a liquor smuggler Ranjeet Kumar Yadav, son Ganesh Kumar Yadav of Dhamval village under Shahpur police station. The arrested smuggler said that he was smuggling the liquor from Balia in Utter Pradesh. Later, police forwarded him to jail.
