New Delhi : A total of 82,753 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 59,88,822 in the country at 8 am on October 10, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (8,83,185) by a huge margin of 51,05,637. The country, on the other hand, also reported 73,272 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 69,79,423 in the country.

Of the 69,79,423 COVID-19 cases reported so far in the country, altogether 59,88,822 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 85.81%. On October 10, 2020, the number of active cases ( 8,83,185) was 12.65% of the total cases (69,79,423) reported till date in the country. India has tested 8,57,98,698 samples till date including 11,64,018 samples on October 10.

The COVID-19 toll increased to 1,07,416 in the country on October 10 with 926 new deaths being reported from different places in the country including 302 from Maharashtra, 114 from Karnataka, 68 from Tamilnadu, 62 from West Bengal, 48 from Uttar Pradesh, 39 from Delhi, 38 from Chhattisgarh, 32 from Punjab, 31 from Andhra Pradesh, 25 from Kerala, 16 from Rajasthan, 14 from Haryana, and 9 from Gujarat.The Case Fatality Rate was 1.54% in the country on October 9, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on October 10, 2020, is : Maharashtra (39,732), Tamilnadu (10,120), Karnataka (9,789), Delhi (5,692), Andhra Pradesh (6,159), Uttar Pradesh (6,293), West Bengal (5,501), Gujarat (3,547), Madhya Pradesh (2,574), Rajasthan (1,621),  Punjab (3,773), Telengana (1,217), J&K (1,306), Haryana (1,562), Bihar (934), Odisha (991), Jharkhand (781), Assam (802), Uttarakhand (716), Kerala (955),  Chhattisgarh (1,196), Puducherry (558), Goa (491), Tripura (313), Chandigarh (188),  Andaman & Nicobar (55), Himachal Pradesh (245), Ladakh (63), Manipur (86), Nagaland (17), Meghalaya (61), Arunachal Pradesh (23), Sikkim (53), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
