New Delhi : Altogether 82,260 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 55,09,966 in the country at 8 am on October 4, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (9,37,625) by a massive margin of 45,72,341. On the other hand, 75,829 new COVID-19 cases were also recorded in the country during last 24 hours taking the tally 65,49,373 cases.
Of the 65,49,373 COVID-19 cases reported till date in the country, a total of 55,09,966 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 84.13%. India has tested 7,89,92,534 samples till date including 11,42,131 samples on October 3, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll has increased to 1,01,782 in the country with 940 new deaths being reported from different places during last 24 hours including 278 from Maharashtra, 100 from Karnataka, 65 from Tamilnadu, 41 from Andhra Pradesh, 29 from Chhattisgarh, 60 from Uttar Pradesh, 62 from West Bengal, 27 from MP, 61 from Punjab, 22 from Kerala, 25 from Haryana, 34 from Delhi, 19 from J&K, and 12 from Gujarat. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.55% in India on October 4, 2020.
The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on October 4, 2020, is : Maharashtra (37,758), Tamilnadu (9,718), Karnataka (9,219), Delhi (5,472), Andhra Pradesh (5,941), Uttar Pradesh (5,977), West Bengal (5,132), Gujarat (3,487), Madhya Pradesh (2,399), Rajasthan (1,530), Punjab (3,562), Telengana (1,163), J&K (1,231), Haryana (1,450), Bihar (912), Odisha (892), Jharkhand (734), Assam (735), Uttarakhand (648), Kerala (813), Chhattisgarh (1,031), Puducherry (534), Goa (450), Tripura (293), Chandigarh (172), Andaman & Nicobar (53), Himachal Pradesh (210), Ladakh (61), Manipur (71), Nagaland (17), Meghalaya (54), Arunachal Pradesh (18), Sikkim (43), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
