New Delhi : Altogether 82,203 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 57,44,693 in the country at 8 am on October 7, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases ( 9,07,883) by a huge margin of  48,36,810.  The country, on the other hand, also reported 72,049 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 67,57,131.The number of active cases was 13.44% of the total COVID cases (67,57,131) reported till date in the country.

Of the 67,57,131 COVID-19 cases reported till date in the country, a total of  57,44,693 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 85.02%. India has tested 8,22,71,654 samples till date including 11,99,857 samples on October 6, 2020.

The COVID-19 toll jumped to 1,04,555 in the country on October 7, 2020, with 986 new deaths being reported from different places including 370 from Maharashtra, 71 from Tamilnadu, 91 from Karnataka, 61 from Uttar Pradesh, 63 from West Bengal, 39 from Delhi, 38 from Punjab, 33 from Andhra Pradesh, 25 from MP, 25 from Kerala, 23 from Chhattisgarh, 18 from Haryana, and 10 from Gujarat.The Case Fatality Rate was 1.55% in the country on October 7, 2020.
