New Delhi : Altogether 81,514 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 63,83,441 in the country at 8 am on October 15, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (8,12,390) by a massive margin of 55,71,051. The country, on the other hand, also reported 67,708 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 73,07,097. India reported 680 new COVID-19 deaths during last 24 hours.

Of the 73,07,097 COVID-19 cases reported till date in the country, a total of 63,83,441 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 87.36%. The country has tested 9,12,26,305 samples so far including 11,36,183 samples on October 14, 2020. The number of active cases was 11.12 % of the total COVID-19 cases ( 73,07,097) on October 15, 2020.

The COVID-19 toll jumped to 1,11,266 in the country on October 15, 2020, with 680 new deaths being reported in last 24 hours including 158 from Maharashtra, 75 from Karnataka, 64 from West Bengal, 52 from Tamilnadu, 44 from Delhi, 41 from Uttar Pradesh,33 from Chhattisgarh, 31 from Punjab, 28 from Andhra Pradesh, 20 from Kerala, 15 from Madhya Pradesh, 15 from Rajasthan, 13 from Haryana, 11 from Gujarat, 6 from Jharkhand, 6 from Bihar, 6 from Manipur, and 4 from Assam. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.52% in the country on October 15, 2020.

The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on October 15, 2020,  is : Maharashtra (40,859), Tamilnadu (10,423), Karnataka (10,198), Delhi (5,898), Andhra Pradesh (6,319), Uttar Pradesh (6,507), West Bengal (5,808), Gujarat (3,595), Madhya Pradesh (2,686), Rajasthan (1,694),  Punjab (3,925), Telengana (1,249), J&K (1,352), Haryana (1,614), Bihar (967), Odisha (1,062), Jharkhand (811), Assam (834), Uttarakhand (796), Kerala (1,066),  Chhattisgarh (1,339), Puducherry (568), Goa (519), Tripura (319), Chandigarh (199),  Andaman & Nicobar (55), Himachal Pradesh (255), Ladakh (64), Manipur (103), Nagaland (22), Meghalaya (70), Arunachal Pradesh (29), Sikkim (59), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
