Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Eight students of DPS Bokaro have qualified for the second round of Hanoi Open Mathematics Competition (HOMC)- Vietnam, 2020.They are among the top hundred students to have been selected from across India.
Aameya Devansh, Harsh Bihany, Harsh Rai, and Rohit Verma of Grade X; Advay Kumar and Ritul Kumar Singh of Grade 9; Soumyadip Mandal of Grade 8, and Aditya Ratna Jha of Grade 7 are the students from DPS Bokaro who have made it to the next round.
It may be mentioned here that more than 700 students from 70 schools from across India had participated in HOMC out of which 100 students have been selected for the second round. Out of the total 100 students, twelve students will qualify to represent India at the Global Maths Competition scheduled to be held in Vietnam.HOMC was first organized in 2004 by the Hanoi Mathematical Society for Junior (Grade 8) and Senior (Grade 10) students with the objective to identify and nurture mathematical talent and motivate the students at junior and senior high schools.
Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, congratulated the students and encouraged them to put in their best at the next level.
