Patna : Eight countrymade pistols and over Rs 2 lakh cash have been found missing from maalkhana of Pirbahore police station (PS) , Patna, on December 13, 2018. The matter came to light when SHO, Pirbahore police station, Ghulam Sarvar, started process for matching of seized materials kept in maalkhana of the police station. Some arms and cash were found missing. SHO Sarwar said that the process of matching is still on.

DSP (Town) Suresh Prasad said that several seized arms were stored in maalkhana of the police station for past several years. He said that these arms were seized during vehicle checking. He said that when new SHO started process of matching the seized materials, he found some arms and cash missing. He said that all seized materials including arms are being matched.

Meanwhile, Patna Senior SP (SSP) Manu Maharaaj said that an FIR had been lodged against unknown persons in this connection.

It may be mentioned here that this is not the first incident when arms and ammunition have gone missing from maalkhana of a police station in the state. Earlier, 4,000 cartridges of different makes had gone missing from Samastipur armoury while .303 bore rifle, two 9 mm pistols and over 150 cartridges of different bores had also gone missing from Siwan armoury.
