New Delhi : A total of 71,559 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 61,49,535 at 8 am on October 12, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (8,61,853) by a huge margin of 52,87,682. The country also reported 66,732 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 71,20,538 cases in the country till date.
The number of active cases ( 8,61,853) was 12.10 % of the total cases reported so far ( 71,49,538) on October 12, 2020. On October 11, 2020, a total of 89,154 COVID patients were declared cured.
Of the 71,20,538 COVID-19 cases reported till date in the country, altogether 61,49,535 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 86.36%. The country has tested 8,78,72,093 samples so far including 9,94,851 samples on October 11, 2020.
The COVID-19 death toll jumped to 1,09,150 on October 12, 2020, with 816 new cases being reported from different places in the country including 309 from Maharashtra, 75 from Karnataka, from Tamilnadu, 41 from Uttar Pradesh, 59 rom West Bengal, 35 from Punjab, 30 from Andhra Pradesh, 29 from Delhi, 25 from Madhya Pradesh, 25 from Kerala, 18 from Chhattisgarh, 14 from Rajasthan, 5 from Assam, 6 from Telangana, 7 from Haryana, and 9 from Gujarat. he Case Fatality Rate was 1.53% in the country on October 12, 2020.
