New Delhi : Altogether 67,549 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 70,16,046 at 8 am on October 24, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (6,80,680) by a massive margin of 63,95,366. The country, on the other hand, also recorded 53,370 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 78,14,682. The number of active cases was 8.71% of the total COVID-19 cases (78,14,682) in the country on October 24, 2020.

Of the 78,14,682. COVID-19 cases reported so far in the country, a total of 70,16,046 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 89.78%. The country has tested 10,13,82,564 samples so far including 12,69,479 samples on October 23, 2020.

The COVID-19 toll climbed to 1,17,956 in the country on October 24, 2020, with 650 new deaths being reported from different places across the country including 184 from Maharashtra, 60 from West Bengal, 58 from Chhattisgarh, 51 from Karnataka, 40 from Uttar Pradesh, 33 from Tamilnadu, 26 from Delhi, 26 from Kerala, 23 from Punjab, 20 from Andhra Pradesh, 18 from Odisha, 17 from Haryana, 13 from Madhya Pradesh, 11 from Uttarakhand, 8 from Bihar, and 6 from Gujarat.
