New Delhi : The phenomenal increase in the number COVID-19 patients being declared cured/discharged continues in India reaching 30,37,151 at 8 am on September 4, 2020, a jump of 66,659 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases by 22,06,027, a massive margin. The COVID-19 samples tested in the country crossed 11 lakh mark on September 3, 2020.
India tested 11,69,765 COVID samples on September 3, 2020, taking the tally to 4,66,79,145 till date. India has reported 39,36,747 COVID cases so far of which 30,37,151 have been declared cured/discharged including 6,12,484 in Maharashtra and 3,86,173 in Tamilnadu with the recovery rate being 77.15%. The country reported 83,341 new cases during last 24 hours. The number of active cases was 8,31,124 on September 4, 2020, which is 21.11% of the total cases reported till date.
The COVID death toll jumped to 68,472 in India on September 4, 2020, with 1,096 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours. The Case Fatality Rate has dropped to 1.74 % in the country, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The COVID-19 toll break-up in India on September 4, 2020, is : Maharashtra (25,586), Tamilnadu (7,608), Karnataka (6,054), Delhi (4,500), Andhra Pradesh (4,200), Uttar Pradesh (3,691), West Bengal (3,394), Gujarat (3,062), Madhya Pradesh (1,483), Rajasthan (1,095), Punjab (1,690), Telengana (866), J&K (743), Haryana (740), Bihar (672), Odisha (522), Jharkhand (444), Assam (330), Uttarakhand (300), Kerala (315), Chhattisgarh (315), Puducherry (260), Goa (212), Tripura (129), Chandigarh (63), Andaman & Nicobar (48), Himachal Pradesh (48), Ladakh (35), Manipur (32), Nagaland (9), Meghalaya (13), Arunachal Pradesh (7), Sikkim (4), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
As far Bihar figure goes, according to State Health Department, the COVID death toll was 728 in the state on September 3, 2020.
