New Delhi : Altogether 66,399 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 66,63,608 in the country at 8 am on October 19, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (7,72,055) by a huge margin of 58,91,553. The country also reported 55,722 new cases during last 24 hours taking the tally of COVID-19 tally to 75,50,273 in the country on October 19, 2020. India had reported 61,871 new COVID-19 cases on October 18, 2020. The number of active cases in India was 10.23% of the total COVID-19 cases ( 75,50,273) on October 19.
Of the 75,50,273 COVID-19 cases reported till date in the country, a total of 66,63,608 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 88.26%. India has tested 9,50,83,976 samples so far including 8,59,786 samples on October 18, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll climbed to 1,14,610 in the country on October 19 with 579 new deaths being reported from different places in the country during last 24 hours including 150 from Maharashtra, 56 from Tamilnadu, 64 from West Bengal, 29 from Uttar Pradesh, 51 from Karnataka, 39 from Chhattisgarh, 23 from Andhra Pradesh, 28 from Delhi, 9 from Gujarat, 20 from Madhya Pradesh, 13 from Punjab, 13 from Rajasthan, 22 from Kerala, 14 from Odisha, 7 from Jharkhand, and 6 from Bihar. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.52% in the country on October 19, 2020.
