Patna : Thousands of students and people from every section of the society participated in the formation of Human Chain in Aurangabad district on January 21. State Tourism minister cum in-charge of the district Anita Devi along with Youth, Culture and Youth Affairs secretary Chaitanya Prasad, Aurangabad DM Kawal Tanuj, SP Satyaprakash and Nagar Parishad chairperson Nitu Devi inaugurated the formation of Human Chain by releasing balloons at Jasoiya Mor on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that today is a historic moment for the state as people spontaneously extended their support to the formation of Human Chain. She said that without peoples’ support one cannot think of total prohibition.   Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Chaitanya Prasad said that the image of Bihar has improved as the state CM Nitish Kumar clamped prohibition across the state. He claimed that over 11,000 km has been  covered with human chain across the state. Besides the children, their parents were also excited about the programme organized by the state government.

DM and SP exhorted the people to extend their support to prohibition for all round development of the state as well as the society. However, 66 students fell unconscious across the district while participating in the programme. Some of them were: Dharmendra Kumar, Raushan Kumar, Gudia Kumari, Sunita Kumari, Rekha Kumari, Rahul Kumar, Rohit Kumar and Sachin Kumar. The villagers in Goh became agitated when they found no arrangements of ambulance for carrying unconscious students to local hospital. One of the villagers Jaiprakash Kumar said that though they informed local BDO Sunil Kumar about the incident, no assistance was provided to them. He said that the unconscious students were treated by the villagers.
