New Delhi : The number of COVID-19 patients  being declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours jumped to 63,842 in India taking the tally to 72,01,070 at 8 am on October 27, 2020, exceeding the number of active patients (6,25,857) by a huge margin of 65,75,213. But, the number of new COVID-19 cases dropped to 36,470 cases during last 24 hours taking the tally to 79,46,429 at 8 am on October 27, 2020. The number of active cases was 7.88% of the total COVID-19 cases ( 79,46,429) recorded so far in the country on October 27.

Of the 79,46,429 COVID-19 cases recorded till date in the country, altogether 72,01,070 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 90.62%. The country has tested 10,44,20,894 samples so far including 9,58,116 samples on October 26, 2020.

The COVID-19 toll has increased to 1,19,502 with 488 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 84 from Maharashtra, 59 from West Bengal,  54 from Delhi,  43 from Chhattisgarh, 42 from Karnataka, 22 from Uttar Pradesh, 20 from Kerala, 19 from Andhra Pradesh, 14 from Odisha, 14 from Rajasthan, 10 from Haryana, 9 from Bihar, 8 from Uttarakhand, 8 from Punjab, 6 from Jharkhand,6 from J&K, 5 from Madhya Pradesh, and 4 from Gujarat. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.50% in the country on October 27, 2020.
