New Delhi : Altogether 61,775 COVID-19 patients were declared cured /discharged in India during last 24 hours gaking the tally to 67,95,103 in the country at 8 am on October 21, 2020, exceeding the number iof active cases by a huge margin of 60,55,013. The country, on the other hand, reported 54,044 new COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 76,51,107. The number of active cases ( 7,40,090) was 9.67% of the total reported COVID-19 cases (76,51,107) in the country on October 21, 2020. The country had reported 46,790 new COVID-19 cases on October 20, 2020.
Of the 76,51,107 COVID-19 cases reported till date in India, a total of 67,95,103 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 88.81 %. The country has tested 9,72,00,379 samples so far including 10,83,608 samples on October 20, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll climbed to 1,15,914 on October 21, 2020, with 717 new deaths being reported from different paets of the country during last 24 hours including 213 from Maharashtra, 66 from Karnataka, 61 from West Bengal, 50 from Tamilnadu, 50 from Chhattisgarh, 41 from Delhi, 29 from Uttar Pradesh, 28 from Andhra Pradesh, 25 from Madhya Pradesh, 24 from Kerala, 16 from Odisha, 14 from Rajasthan,13 from Uttarakhand, 12 from Haryana, 9 from J&K, 8 from Punjab, 8 from Gujarat, 8 from Bihar, and 7 from Jharkhand. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.51% in the country on October 21, 2020.
