Bagaha : A devastating fire, which broke out around 2 pm on March 30, 2018, at the house of one Bhola Yadav of village Binahi Ahirtoli in Hathuyanwa panchayat under Bhitaha block in West Champaran district during cooking of food, gutted 60 houses at the village within 30 minutes due to westerly wind.

The inmates could not take out their belongings, other valuables, from their houses. One dozen goats and hens were roasted alive. Five persons sustained minor burn injuries while extinguishing the fire. The loss of property in the fire is estimated to be worth Rs 3o lakh, acoording to sources at the village.

Circle Officer, Bhitaha, Rakesh Kumar, besides BDO and police reached the village soon after gettinf information about the fire.The CO said that Circle Inspector (revenue) Vijay Kishore Rao has been asked to prepare a list of those affected by he fire to provide them  relief immediately. By the time the fire tender reached the village, houses were reduced to ashes, alleged villager Jakir Hussain.
