Sitamarhi : At least six policemen including a Sub-Inspector (SI) Vibhuti Murmu sustained injuries at village Bhaluaaha under Kanhauli police station (PS) in Sitamarhi District in North Bihar as they were pelted with stones in during the wee hours on of September 1, 2021, after they tried to stop an Orchestra party from performing at the village without permission.

The police station vehicle was also damaged in stone pelting. The injured policemen were first admitted to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Sonbarsa, and later on forwarded to Sitamarhi.
The Kanhauli police patrolling party reached village Bhaluaaha on getting information that Orchestra and dance parties were performing there at a function to mark birth of a boy. The team asked them to stop the function as no permission has been  sought for playing of orchestra instruments and also they were not following Covid-19 norms. The spectators got infuriated on hearing this and resorted to stone and brick pelting. The lady dancers fled away taking advantage of the darkness.
Sonbarsa, Sahiyara, and Bhutahi policemen rushed there to rescue the Kanhauli police team. So far fifteen spectators and villagers have been arrested and police are searching for others involved in attack on police team at the village.
