New Delhi :  Altogether 59,454 COVID-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 74,32,829 at 8 am on October 31, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (5,82,649) by a huge margin of  68,50,180. The country, on the other hand, also recorded 48,268 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours taking the number of cases recorded till date to 81,37,119 at 8 am on October 31, 2020. The number of active cases was 7.16% of the total cases (81,37,219) on October 31, 2020.

Of the 81,37,119 COVID-19 cases recorded so far in the country, a total of 74,32,829 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 91.34%. The country has tested 10,77, 28,088 samples till date including 11,64,648 samples on October 30, 2020.

The COVID-19 toll climbed to 1,21,641 on October 31, 2020, with 551 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including.127 from Maharashtra, 59 from West Bengal, 49 from Karnataka, 49 from Chhattisgarh, 47 from Delhi, 28 from Kerala, 24 from Uttar Pradesh, 19 from Punjab, 17 from Andhra Pradesh, 12 from Madhya Pradesh, 11 from Haryana, 11 from Odisha, 10 from Rajasthan, 8 from Bihar, and 6 from Gujarat. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.49% in the country on October 31, 2020.
